Upon the approval of State Council, Ningbo Daxie Development Zone was launched in March, 1993, enjoying the preferential policies eligible to the state-level economic and technical development zones. It was CITIC that took vast tract development of
Daxie Island.
Daxie Development Zone is located in the middle of China¡¯s coastline, and at the T-shaped intersection of the ¡°golden
waterway¡± of Yangtze River and the ¡°golden coastline¡± of China. It is located in the coastal deepwater port area of the east of Ningbo city, Zhejiang Province, which is within the Yangtze River Delta Area possessing greatest economy development vigor and potentialities in China.
Based on the development strategy of ¡°Daxie Developed by the Port, Enhanced by the Industries¡±, Daxie Development Zone has attracted many solid enterprises in and abroad on petrochemical and port industry, according to the unparalleled resources and the market demands of the hinterland. It has formed three important industries such as frontage industry, energy transshipment and port logistics. The deepwater advantage has been changed into the industry advantage.
After more than ten years¡¯ development and construction, Daxie has improved and perfected the infrastructure, and formed the structure of modern port and frontage energy and petrochemical base, establishing the favorable foundation for the development of transshipment of energy, liquid chemicals and containers, and the logistics.
